India lacks 600,000 doctors according to the World Health Organization and Planning Commission of India and estimated at least 20 years to fill this gap. With an every growing population, this gap is going to widen and this open a lot of opportunity in the medical sector. We often tend to drive our thoughts away from medical studies abroad owing to the high fee structure, tougher admission process and high student dropout rates. What we don't realize is that we always look at the smaller picture of the few global destinations that we know of or the few colleges we have heard of. What we essentially lack is a guide to help us through this process of choosing the right country, the right institution and the right course. A brief search and you will find that most of the renowned doctors in and around your vicinity are graduates of universities abroad. Earlier the screening test to practice in India was the only difficulty faced by doctors who attained their graduation from abroad universities. But now there has been a change in law and this test has been made mandatory for all medical graduates (both from India and abroad) to practice in India.
